Welcome

Dear Members and Colleagues:

Our 30th Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Union League of Philadelphia.

The Preliminary Scientific Program and Registration Information for the meeting are now available by visiting the Next Meeting section of our website.

Our Program Committee has developed an excellent program.   This year’s Panel will be on Vascular Trauma and the topics will include pelvic vessel injuries; aortic arch transections; iatrogenic injuries; and upper extremity vascular injuries.   In addition, the Annual Meeting will continue to offer presentations by an expert Panel and the meeting will continue to feature the Residents Competition.   Please invite your residents, fellows and potential new members to attend.

Doctor David L. Gillespie, Professor of Surgery, Chief and Program Director of Vascular Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, USU will be our featured speaker.  Doctor Gillespie will be presenting, “Treating Vascular Injuries in Modern Warfare – The Military Experience in Iraq”.

Our Meeting this year will once again coincide with 16th Annual Pennsylvania Hospital Vascular Symposium on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12.  Please make plans to also attend the Symposium. Speakers and moderators are nationally renowned vascular surgeons and interventionalists, with lectures, case presentations and audience participation. For further information, log on to www.xpertize.com.  Information will be mailed to DVVS Members and Colleagues in a separate mailing.

The American College of Surgeons will be jointly sponsoring the meeting for CME Accreditation and has approved the meeting for 5.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

I look forward to seeing you soon at our April 10th Annual Meeting.

Sincerely yours,

Robert J. DiGiovanni, MD
President
